On today’s Bold and the Beautiful episode, no sooner had Finn Finnegan expressed fulfillment with his life, as is, then Steffy returned home with the news that Douglas Forrester wants to move on in.
In addition, Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) walked in on Katie (Heather Tom) in a state of undress — turnabout is fair play and all that — and Hope rued her failures as a mother. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At the cliff house, having wrapped their discussion about how terrible Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) is, Finn and Li returned to talking about Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri). Gosh, that kid is just the best. Kelly adores him. Li can’t think of a more sweet and patient young man, and Finn loves that the little guy is such a good role model — not only for Kelly, but for everyone in the family. Truth, honesty, and all that.
Afterwards, it was time to drop some anvils. Almost out of nowhere, Finn just had to express how much he adores his perfect present. He’s struck a perfect balance between family and work. He’s happy and fulfilled and he has everything that he could ever want. And he doesn’t want a thing to change. Not. One. Thing.

Sure of the fact that she’s locked the door behind her, Katie set about using the Chief Executive Officer’s office as changing room because…reasons.
Wouldn’t you know it, the lock wasn’t engaged, and who should walk in and be greeted to the sight of a lingerie-clad Katie but her current squeeze. Carter didn’t complain. In fact, he complimented. And complimented. And complimented. And massaged Katie’s feet because…reasons.
As ever, talk turned to Bill’s (Don Diamont) out of character acts and how awful that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) is. Also, Katie couldn’t help but worry over the fate of her niece’s adopted son because…reasons.
At least the opportunity for romancing wasn’t completely ignored. The burgeoning couple did agree to paint the town red later that night. First stop, an Indian restaurant that they’ve already sampled. She’ll get the chicken masala — which she doesn’t much care for — and Carter will get the curry which they’ll wind up splitting. It’ll be a reenactment of their last visit there because…reasons. Adorable reasons.
Hope and Liam (Scott Clifton), and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) are incredulous. How could Douglas do this to them? Choose Steffy…Steffy wasn’t even an option! Sure, it was all fine and dandy when they thought that they were in the running, but now that Douglas has voiced his opinion, suddenly, they don’t want to listen.
Steffy oh so helpfully suggests that everyone head home — Douglas to Hope and Liam’s abode, of course — and then they can pick up the discussion at a later date? Everyone agrees.
Once back at the cabin (Donna and Brooke were watching Douglas), Hope and Thomas throw respective fits. Thomas was sure he’d win. That’s why he made the stupid suggestion that Douglas should be the master of his own destiny in the first place. Hope, meanwhile, bemoaned her failures as a mother. Oh, how terrible she must be. How wrong she must have done by Douglas. But where exactly, when exactly did she screw up?
From the moment Steffy walked through the door, Finn could tell that something was up. He’s intuitive that way. At first, he assumed his wife was upset that Douglas chose to remain with Hope and Liam, but she disabused him of that. So, what’s the problem, inquired confused, befuddled Finn.
“[Douglas] wrote down my name. Finn, he looked at me with those sweet, innocent eyes, and he said he wanted to live with me. He wanted to live with us. Douglas wants to be part of our family Finn,” explained Steffy. You know, for…reasons.
