Soap Hub Performer Of The Week For B&B: Annika Noelle

It may be more fun to play an antagonist on a soap opera but heroines can still deliver the drama as evidenced by Hope Logan Spencer’s recent takedown of Thomas Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. Soap Hub is bestowing Performer of the Week for B&B honors on Annika Noelle for Hope’s savage dressing down of the Forrester heir.

Annika Noelle – Performer of the Week

Despite believing he’d changed and finding him attractive, Hope gave Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) a polite ‘no thanks’ when he made a pass at her around the time of her last fashion show. However, after she became aware that Thomas had framed her mother Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) for the call to Child Protective Services that ruined her marriage, Hope lit into her designer.

Thomas lamented that his family wasn’t speaking to him after his actions but he didn’t care about that. He only wanted Hope to hear him out. Thomas lumped wanting a future with Hope and their co-parenting Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) together with his CPS call machinations but Hope wasn’t interested in hearing any rationale or excuses.

“The call never should have been made,” Hope chastised Thomas. She pointed out that he brought harm to Douglas and he is destroying their relationship. Forget about any attraction Hope may have once felt to Thomas. He was never more ugly than when he stood in front of her in the Forrester Creations’ executive office. Sure, Hope was livid over what was done to her mom but she was first and foremost angry about Thomas dragging Douglas into his schemes.

“You were the one who put him in the middle of this!” Hope snarled at Thomas. “Sometimes I don’t even understand how he could be related to you because he is nothing like you!”

It wasn’t just Ridge and Brooke’s marriage was that broken in all this. Hope’s rose-colored glasses have been shattered to smithereens, too. She can’t view Thomas the same way anymore and she doesn’t want to.

Hope went on to regret that she’d given Thomas the benefit of the doubt and that her mother and her husband Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) were right about him all along. “Maybe I could have stopped my mom’s heartbreak or my son’s disappointment if I had just trusted myself,” Hope argued. “I let my guard down.”

Next, Hope brought up Thomas’s unwelcome kiss, which Thomas maintained wasn’t planned. He went on to say he loved her and Hope replied, “And…I…love…Liam…never you.” Noelle made the choice to have Hope purposely space out her words, which might have allowed Thomas a glimmer of hope that she was going to say she loved him but nope. There’s no hope for Thomas’s future with Hope.

We’re kind of doubting that Thomas will be kept on as a designer working with Hope, too. There is likely no hope for Thomas’s future with Hope for the Future.

“Now, all I see is a sad, pathetic man, who kept me from Beth,” said Hope, reminding Thomas of his past evil deed as she stared him right in the eye, “who didn’t care about his son’s safety so he called CPS on himself. And for what.”

Annika Noelle chose not to put a question mark at the end of her last line as Hope knows there is no possible reason Thomas could give that would change her mind. She walked out the door without looking back. Brava!
