Sheila Carter has moved in with Bill Spencer, leaving Deacon Sharpe alone and brokenhearted. Taylor Hayes has kicked Ridge Forrester to the curb. It’s time for a new couple to emerge in the aftermath of Bold and the Beautiful’s romance roulette. It’s time to explore Deacon and Taylor.
Chemistry Test
The soap actually toyed with the idea a few months back, when they had Deacon and Taylor cross paths a couple of times in the span of a few weeks. There appeared to be a spark and playfulness between actors Sean Kanan and Krista Allen, but then the soap moved their B&B characters off in different directions.
Perhaps the idea of a reputable psychiatrist paired up with a lowly bartender just didn’t make sense. But Deacon’s moved up in the world of late. He now owns and operates Il Giardino, which makes him a viable suitor for Taylor.
The Fall Out
Plus, think of the fallout if Deacon and Taylor were to hook up, have an affair, or perhaps even fall in love. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) has loathed Deacon for years. He forbade Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) from letting him into their home. Imagine Ridge finally returning to town and learning another of his ex-wives is dating Deacon. He’d be beside himself.
Ridge’s anger and jealousy would likely pale in comparison to Sheila’s (Kimberlin Brown) furor if she discovered Deacon was with Taylor. Sure, Sheila dumped Deacon, but that was only to strike a deal with Bill and keep herself out of prison. It’s painfully clear she still has deep feelings for Deacon. How far would she go to keep Taylor away from her man?
Friends and Family
A few other factors would come into the mix, too. Taylor’s new bestie, Brooke, has a daughter (Hope) with Deacon. It could make things odd and uncomfortable between the two women. And, of course, it would also mean that Hope’s (Annika Noelle) father would be dating Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) mother. If nothing else a Deacon-Taylor pairing would make family gatherings a whole lot more interesting in the year ahead for Bold and the Beautiful.
