The week of August 10, 2020

The good news — Sally Spectra isn’t really dying (which we all knew for months). The bad news — it’s the end of the line for the character. Courtney Hope has announced that she’s leaving the soap and her role as the duplicitous fashion designer.

Hope, who joined BB in 2017, summed up her three-year stint on the soap as a “monumental journey.” Her character is set to slip out of town, which means she could always return at a later date. Sally had already been written off the show when she left town with Thomas, but then returned after they broke up and started an ill-fated romance with Wyatt (Darin Brooks).

Her love for Wyatt eventually bordered on obsession when he dumped her more than once for Flo, causing her to fake a fatal illness to try to win him back.

David Lawrence XVII turns up as Las Vegas wedding officiant on Tuesday, August 11. Look for the actor and his character to be part of some flashback sequences featuring Thorsten Kaye’s Ridge. Lawrence is perhaps best known for his role as Eric Doyle on the primetime series Heroes, a role he played from 2008 to 2010.
