Who’s coming and who’s going from the casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of our Lives (DAYS), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
In a stunning casting switcheroo, Robert Scott Wilson, who exited Days of our Lives as Ben Weston earlier this month, is back on the soap opera in a brand new role. Wilson debuts as Alexander Kiriakis, the son of Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and the late Anjelica Deveraux, on Tuesday, July 26. The character is said to be notable different from Ben.
George DelHoyo pops back up as Orpheus on Wednesday, July 27. Look for the character to have a prickly encounter with Stephen Nichols’ Steve Johnson and the aforementioned Kurth’s Justin Kiriakis.
A major emergency recast looks to have been avoided at General Hospital. Laura Wright, who plays Carly Corinthos, has been isolating in Colorado after testing positive for Covid. However, she took to social media to report that there will be no sub filling in for her at the soap opera. “On break right now, so, I’ll be good when we start shooting again.”
Stephen A. Smith returns as Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) security chief, Brick, this week. He’ll share scenes with Benard and Evan Hofer, who portrays Dex.
Real Andrews is back on the job as Marcus Taggert, Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) father. The actor had been temporarily replaced by Asante Jones, who has wrapped up his sub stint.
Bill Sebastian completed his gig as Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) henchman, Stannis, on The Young and the Restless. The character split Genoa City after completing his latest assignment.
Ryan Stroud pops up in the cockpit as ‘The Forrester Pilot’ on The Bold and the Beautiful. He’ll appear in scenes with Thorsten Kaye’s Ridge Forrester and Krista Allen’s Taylor Hayes on Tuesday, July 26, when he flies the duo to Monaco to support Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) The actor was on B&B as a rescue worker back in 2017.
Vincent Irizarry announced on social media that he is returning to The Bold and the Beautiful when his character, Dr. Jordan Armstrong, makes a house call on Monday, July 25. Dr. Armstrong was last seen tending to Thomas Forrester in August of 2019. The appearance marks his first since he underwent emergency brain surgery in March of this year.
B&B is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR). The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
