A Critic’s Review of The Bold and the Beautiful: A Case Of Whiplash
 Comments

When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.

The Bold and the Beautiful: A Critic’s Week In Review

Anybody else suffering from a major case of whiplash? One day Eric Forrester (John McCook) is ordering his wife to break up with the hunk he gave her permission to sleep with, and the literal next day he’s asking Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) – who is said hunk – if he’s gotten over his disappointment yet.

One minute Katie Logan (Heather Tom) is hedging her bets where a reconciliation with Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) is concerned, and then the next, she’s resolute in never, ever getting back together with him.

During the late-night hours, Katie and Carter are having a spirited who’s the biggest loser in love contest, and come the morning, their mooning over each other over brunch (and the less said about Carter going from, “Oh Quinn, I love you forever and always,” to “Yea…what we had was never anything real,” the better).

And then there’s Eric. He wakes up hopelessly impotent – a condition he has suffered from for months and months (since we’re supposed to be ignoring his previously established battle) – and suddenly he’s *ahem* standing at attention…thanks totally to his honey obsessed ex-wife Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), and we do mean obsessed.

The reveal that Donna keeps bottles of honey in her desk and on her person at all times took her longing for Eric from poignant to Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) level creepy.

Also, we have to ask – even though we’re loathed to – where are all these stories swerves heading? Is The Bold and the Beautiful gearing up for Quinn/Eric/Donna and Carter/Katie/Bill love triangles?

Might Quinn and Bill find their way back to each other and make a real go it? Will Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) break the land speed record to sleep with Carter, just so she can say that she’s bedded every man that Katie had a genuine interest in?

What do you think? Post a comment!

So many questions, so little interest. Speaking of questions…what is Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) plan exactly? Does she think that Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) and John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) will pool their resources and make sure that Sheila and Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) have a happy life together? Or that they’ll work together to break them up? Is it all about getting them together and away from their current naysaying spouses?

That last objective makes a lot of sense…but what happens if Hope and Finn decide that they can now walk away from their biological parents since they’ve found happiness and companionship with one another?

Further B&B Critic’s Musings

* Best Laugh-Inducing Line:

Brooke: Well, I’m not interested in gossiping

* Who else expected Hope to press Deacon about his correspondence with Sheila. Surely she’s curious as to his reason for keeping that fact from her during their own letter’s exchange.

* Will someone, anyone, please explain to Steffy and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) that neither Taylor nor Bill is exactly contenders for Parent of the Year. Taylor is guilty of vehicular manslaughter – R.I.P Darla Einstein Forrester – and Bill is just all kinds of awful. Maybe Finn and Hope should insist that THEY be kept away from the children.
