The Week of January 19, 2026

Find out if any of your favorite actors and actresses from yesteryear are returning to the shows you watch, if any newcomers have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles, or if any popular performers are about to make their exit.

Days of our Lives Casting

In a casting stunner, four stars have been pink-slipped at DAYS. Carson Boatman has been let go as Johnny DiMera; Raven Bowens is out as Chanel Dupree DiMera; and Ashley Puzemis and Leo Howard are exiting as Holly Jonas and Tate Black. Boatman and Bowens have been on the canvas since 2021, while Puzemis debuted in 2023 and Howard in 2024. Due to the show’s advanced production schedule, the foursome will remain onscreen through 2026.

On a positive note, fan favorites Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves are back as Jack and Jennifer Deveraux on Wednesday, January 21, when the pair meets with Billy Flynn’s Chad to decide on his children’s custody. Reeves also interacts with Flynn on Friday, January 23.

Joseph Ihlenf and Jordan Perdue pop in as baby Trey. Chanel and Johnny’s adopted son’s christening airs on Monday, January 19.

Miles Anderson resurfaces as Foster, the former Salem bookshop owner. He doles out advice to Susan Seaforth Haye’s Julie on Tuesday, January 20 and appears again on Wednesday, January 21.

Cary Christopher is back as Thomas DiMera. The little boy receives encouragement from Michael Roark’s Jeremy on Wednesday, January 21.

Kim Hawthorne reappears as Dr. Gregory, Rachel’s (Alice Halsey) doctor, this week. She intervenes during an altercation between Sophia (Rachel Boyd) and Holly (Ashley Puzemis).

Peter Porte continues his stint as Dimitri Von Leuschner. He’s confronted by Emily O’Brien’s Gwen on Tuesday, January 20. Here are some interesting facts about the actor.

Casey Moss returns as JJ Deveraux on Thursday, January 22. Look for the character to reconnect with Tyler Joseph Andrews’ Theo.

General Hospital Casting

Anders Hove has returned to GH as Cesar Faison. Well, make that the voice of the supervillain. Hove debuted in the diabolical role in 1990 and was killed off the show in 2018. Faison began “haunting” his longtime obsession, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), via an intercom last week. Casting director Mark Teschner recently opened up about casting Hove and other memorable characters on GH.

Andrew Hawkes is portraying Ross Cullum, a duplicitous new character who is in cahoots with Sidwell (Carlos Rota) and is Jack’s (Chris McKenna) superior at the WSB. Look for Cullum to issue orders to someone on Tuesday, January 20. Here’s the lowdown on the character’s addition to the show and WSB’s inner structure.

Nazneen Contractor reappears as district attorney Justine Turner and Tim Lounibos as Judge Sullivan on Monday, January 19. The pair are on hand when the verdict in Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) trial creates shockwaves in the courtroom.

The Young and the Restless Casting

The takeover of Newman Enterprises is good news for Y&R’s Melissa Ordway. The actress gets more airtime as Abby Newman Winters on Friday, January 23, when her character faces trouble with her onscreen husband, Bryton James’ Devon. Ordway was taken off contract by the CBS soap last year.

Roger Howarth is back as the evil Matt Clark. (Y&R fans are torn about the character’s return, after being declared dead some 20 years ago.) Victor (Eric Braeden) prepares to battle the villain on Tuesday, January 20.

Cait Fairbanks resurfaces as Tessa Porter. She shares heartwarming scenes with Michael Graziadei’s Daniel on Wednesday, January 21.
