Hits and Misses Breakdown: July 27-31, 2026
Beyond the Gates
HIT: The Duprees gather at Uptown for a family celebration. Anita (Tamara Tunie) was in the mood to get down, and that’s what the family did. The Soul Train dance line was pure joy, something that’s often missing on soaps. The scene felt like it marked the end of a dark yet important, emotional, and educational era of the show. We immediately hit rewind and repeat. It was so much fun.
MISS: Heather’s drive-by visits. We love it when Heather (Ashley Jones) visits her brother, Joey (Jon Lindstrom). We don’t love it when she leaves a few minutes later only to head back to London or wherever she goes. Why does she keep trying to get her brother to do her dirty work? Of course, he wouldn’t target Smitty (Mike Manning). She needs to stay and do it herself.
Worth a Mention (HIT): The cousins — Kat, Chelsea, and Naomi — turn their attention to Hayley. It’s about time the cousins got together to do something about Bill’s second wife. Naomi (Arielle Prepetit)and Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) really need to listen to Kat (Colby Nixon) more. She knows what’s up and mostly has good instincts. Follow her lead on this. With her on the case, they’ll be able to figure out that Hayley (Marquita Goings) is attempting to murder Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) sooner rather than later.

The Bold and the Beautiful
HIT: Dylan stands up to Electra. With this latest confrontation, Dylan (Sydney Bullock) and Electra (Laneya Grace) hopefully realize that they were never friends. We don’t want them to be anyway. It’s too much fun to see them battle it out. Dylan didn’t let Electra get away with her usual tactics. She told Electra that she can’t control what happens now. She was the one who left Will (Crew Morrow) forever, after all. And Electra slapped her for her trouble. Stick a fork in it. This friendship is over.
MISS: Will begs Electra to come back to him. Again, Electra is the one who left Will. But after she heard about Dylan and Will’s night on the couch, an entitled Electra just had to run to his beach house and tell him how that wasn’t cool. And what did Will do? He kept begging Electra to change her mind about them. It wasn’t a good look. We did think it was great, however, that he called her out on the fact that she has left him multiple times and how much that has hurt him.
Worth a Mention (HIT): Hope stands up to Steffy. We agree with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) that Hope (Annika Noelle) mishandled the end of her run at Forrester. Calling it a leave of absence when she was quitting wasn’t right. But we understand why Hope left. And at Logan, she has more control over her line. And she doesn’t have to deal with the toxicity that had built up at Forrester. She’s happy, and she’s supported. And she no longer has to hide that fact from Steffy. It was nice to see.

Days of our Lives
HIT: Gabi, Philip, and Titan. Finally, Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) came to her senses. Too bad she couldn’t come to the conclusion on her own. Ari (Vico Escorcia) had to tell her that it may have been an insider job at DiMera responsible for the knockoff Gabi Chic bags. But Gabi made things right. She is giving Titan the money she promised them. And Gabi and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) sealed the moment with kisses. We hope this leads to a reunion.
MISS: Lexie does her part to carry out Kristen’s plan. Lexie’s logic isn’t mathing. She doesn’t want Abe (James Reynolds) and Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) to see her die. But she would rather have her husband and son forever wonder about her disappearance? On top of that, Lexie (Nikki Crawford) has no idea why EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) is going scorched earth here. Lexie has taken Kristen’s words at face value. But the woman tried to murder EJ’s son, and she may have murdered Sophia (Rachel Boyd), too. Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) isn’t someone anyone should be hitching their wagon to, not by a long shot.
Worth a Mention (HIT and MISS): Joy’s ultimatum. It’s clear that Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) is manipulating the situation with Alex. Unfortunately, the show keeps having Stephanie (Abigail Klein) make blunder after blunder. Stephanie is more put together than that, even in the wake of the trauma she recently experienced. At least Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) isn’t letting Joy get away with what she wants. Not yet anyway. He realized that Joy’s demands were beyond unrealistic.

General Hospital
HIT: The Quartermaine meeting about Drew. Quartermaine gatherings are almost always fun, especially when they have a common enemy, and, in this case, it was Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). They found out that Drew was walking and talking again. So they had to come up with a plan and get on the same page. The Quartermaines decided, however, to let Drew on the property only when Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) was around. The way they rallied around Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and listened to his perspective was commendable as well.
MISS: Willow and Drew’s behavior remains unchanged. Realizing that Drew didn’t learn anything from his torturous time in a locked-in state was disheartening. We’re right back where we were when he originally got jabbed in the neck with the paralytic. And Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) was no better. She has faced no consequences for her actions. She is back to going in on Michael (Rory Gibson) and their custody situation. Sigh.
Worth a Mention (MISS): Ava was done dirty. We get the challenges of the soap business. But this week was a lot. We suddenly found out that there was an Ethan recast (Christian Howard). Then, over the span of the week, Ethan and Ava slept together. Ethan spotted someone he didn’t want to see, and he left town. It just made it all the more sad and jarring that we never got to see Nathan Dean’s Ethan and Maura West’s Ava capitalize on their chemistry. And now what happens to Ava’s love life?

The Young and the Restless
HIT: Victoria gets to Billy before Sally does. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) pulled a classic soap move that was designed to make a mess. Victoria and Victor (Eric Braeden) knew there was more to Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) getting Newman Media back from Sally (Courtney Hope) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) than they were telling. So Victoria went over to Billy’s, and she told him the truth before Sally could. Sally came home to Billy knowing the truth. That was good drama.
MISS: Nikki gets her eyesight back. It felt like Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) vision came back too quickly after the bandages were removed. There was still more drama to be squeezed out of this scenario and more beats that could have been played.
Worth a Mention (HIT): Y&R gets two new headwriters. Congratulations to Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor, the new Y&R headwriters. We’re very encouraged by what this could mean for the residents of Genoa City. It’s sad that BTG will be losing the talented Giddens, but we’re excited to see what this means for Y&R’s future.
