There is no question that EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) constantly thinks about himself and getting what he wants, no matter who he hurts. That is what happened with Holly (Ashley Puzemis).
EJ was concerned about Holly and didn’t want her to die. It was the reason he had Johnny (Carson Boatman) leave the medical book open to arsenic in Sarah’s (Linsey Godfrey) office.
Then, once he knew she was going to live, EJ set her up to take the heat off the DiMera Pharmaceutical Coriseal situation. EJ planting the drugs in Holly’s back is more dangerous than he realizes.
Holly’s world came crashing down when she was confronted about the drugs. The teen knows she hasn’t been doing them, but no one, especially Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), believes her.

The second Tate found the pills in Holly’s bag, he ran to Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Sarah to tell them. Tate didn’t even bother to ask Holly about them; he just assumed the worst of his girlfriend.
Unfortunately, no matter what Holly says now, Sarah, Tate, Brady, and Xander (Paul Telfer) could believe that Holly wants the truth to be that she didn’t do drugs, but the evidence against her contradicts anything she says. This makes it harder for anyone to believe her theory that she was framed.
Adding another layer to Holly’s biggest problem is that EJ didn’t have to prove Holly was guilty; he just needed to frame it like she was. EJ did a great job and couldn’t have had it play out more perfectly with Tate finding the pills. Well, unless Sarah found them.
EJ knew exactly what he was doing when he set up Holly, and he did it for his own selfish game. The fact that he was given the perfect opportunity, as she was about to leave, makes his actions even more diabolical and Holly even more desperate.
Holly has no clue that the fight she needs to be fighting is against EJ, not her loved ones.
