Just when Days of our Lives fans wondered if Cat was becoming under EJ’s spell, she made a move that proved she’s not as bad as some people in Salem think. Cat used Kayla’s intel to help find Gwen, who was missing, without hesitation. It has changed the dynamic of her relationship with her boss.

Key Takeaways

  • Cat turned to Andrew for help with Gwen.
  • It was a bold choice that spoke volumes.
  • Cat’s actions are bound to lead to trouble with EJ and her latest mission.

DAYS Cat Just Changed Her EJ Game

There’s no question that Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) has been struggling when it comes to EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). Cat plays the devoted ISA agent in front of Rafe (Galen Gering), but even he knows she’s got feelings for her target.

For the longest time, Cat has done a great job of balancing her moral compass and EJ’s shady ways, while keeping her eye on the mission. Things have gotten more serious between the two of them lately, and Cat so made it come off as if she was diving into a full-blown romance with him.

When Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) informed her that Gwen (Emily O’Brien) was missing and that she suspected EJ was behind it, something shifted in Cat. shifted. Instead of going directly to EJ, she called Andrew (Colton Little) to trace Gwen’s phone and reveal that EJ may have something to do with it.

The move spoke volumes about Cat and what her priority is, and it’s not protecting EJ.

Cat Changes the Game With EJ

Let’s be honest, Cat’s motives have been unclear since it was revealed she has a past with EJ and was an ISA agent. Gwen’s sudden disappearance has changed that for Cat.

Instead of waffling, Cat trusted her instincts, which were to find Gwen and not let EJ in on what she was doing. Cat didn’t give EJ the benefit of the doubt, something she has been doing for far too long, and it wasn’t part of her undercover persona.

This is EJ, so of course, Cat was right to follow her instincts. EJ is not above kidnapping anyone; look at what he has planned for Kristen (Stacy Haiduk). Cat may be caught up in her feelings for EJ, but she’s smart enough to know that listening to her instincts is the way to go.

While she certainly seems to have flipped a switch about EJ, it doesn’t mean she’s all about taking him down. The mission is to do just that, but Cat’s personal feelings can’t be ignored.

There’s hope, based on her recent actions, that Cat will do what she was hired to do and bust EJ, no matter what. However, Cat’s also got a romantic side she can’t ignore, which could lead her to make a bad decision, like failing to take down her target.

Whatever she chooses, betrayal is bound to happen for Cat in one way or another, and it will come with a side of regret. The question is who gets betrayed, her or EJ?
