Jason and Sonny finally figured out who was behind the bombing at The Floating Rib on Monday’s General Hospital, with mobster Sonny using a rather unusual technique to get information out of the hapless Metro Court bartender.
Carly informed her husband that there was something suspicious about the new bartender she hired, but she had yet to do a background check. That prompted Sonny and Jason (Steve Burton) to head to the Metro Court and harass the man until they told them what they needed to know.
Jason dragged the man out onto the terrace and slammed his head into a brick column. With his head down, Sonny started poking at the man, which caused quite a stir on social media as it was not something we are used to seeing from Port Charles’ premier mafia man.
However, Maurice Benard explains how that scene made it to air, as the pokes were apparently NOT written into the script.
“Here’s what happened,” Benard tweeted. “I did it in rehearsal and then Mr. Valentini liked it so I kept doing it.”
And there you have it. The actor improvised and that improvisation made it into the final cut for a highly memorable scene.
Another aspect of the Corinthos lives has also become social media fodder and that’s the moss on Sonny and Carly’s (Laura Wright) kitchen counter. Fans were quick to point out when moss made it onto Jason and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) coffee table as well. That was something Valentini also liked without ever thinking it would take on a social media life of its own.
In the end, Sonny and Jason got the information they wanted and now know Julian Jerome (William deVry) was out to kill them — and did kill Dustin and Dev. What they don’t yet know is why. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
