With three Daytime Emmy Awards to her name, Cady McClain is known for her outstanding work on soap operas, especially her long-time role as Dixie Martin on All My Children.
Cady McClain Recounts Time On Cheers
But the actress has moonlighted on some primetime shows as well through the years and took to Instagram to recount one of her favorite guest spots from 1985, on the longtime NBC Thursday night hit, Cheers.
“I was 16 and was so happy to have been cast as ‘Joyce Pantuso’ aka ‘Coaches Niece’ to play Woody’s love interest,” McClain wrote, adding a photo of an image she grabbed from the episode. “The characters got into some trouble for wanting to get married right away and instead decided to go for ice cream.”
Cheers was one of NBC’s top shows and is considered one of the best comedies of all time. McClain enjoyed her experience and said the show’s stars were great to work with. “Loved working on this show!” she wrote. “Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson could not have been sweeter people to me.”
Plus, she revealed how being at the studio presented her with another favorite memory. “It was so cool to be on the Paramount lot and see Leonard Nimoy in the cafeteria! Spock!” she shared. “I almost fell over.”
Back when she was starting in the biz, Cady McClain also appeared on shows such as Spencer For Hire, St. Elsewhere, and One Big Family. More recently, she’s guested on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The last time we saw McClain on daytime, she was filling in for Melissa Reeves as Jennifer on Days of our Lives. Soap fans would love nothing more than to see her back on another show.
And now that General Hospital’s Esme Prince is rumored to be Ryan Chamberlain’s daughter, how great would it be for Cady McClain to pop up as Esme’s mom and play opposite her real-life husband Jon Lindstrom (Ryan/Kevin)? That would be something to “cheer” about.
