We all know that Carly Corinthos loves collecting other people’s children on General Hospital. When Alexis Davis was hospitalized years ago, Carly was happy to temporarily get her hands on tiny Kristina Davis-Corinthos. She made sure that Michael Corinthos had nothing to do with his biological father, AJ Quartermaine, while he was growing up, and, whenever she was with Sonny Corinthos, Carly made sure that Josslyn Jacks lived with them and not her dad.

Her most recent acquisition was Avery, Sonny’s child with Ava Jerome. She made sure the little girl called her “Mommy Carly,” and even though Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) are now divorced, she still seems to believe she should have a say in the little girl’s life. But what if her reason isn’t pure selfishness? What if Carly knows something nobody else does?
General Hospital: The Big Secret
When Ava (Maura West) was initially pregnant, we had a Who’s the Daddy story. Was it Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig), the man with whom she was in a relationship with – much to Carly’s (Laura Wright) disgust – or was it Sonny (Maurice Benard) – the man with whom she had hate sex in a crypt? But who was… you know, Sonny… the most virile man in Port Charles. Sonny won that contest. Based on a paternity test. That Carly had every opportunity to sabotage.

GH Spoilers: Means, Motive, and Opportunity
Carly loathed Ava. And she loathed the idea of her precious baby boy being in bed – literally – with that viper. Still, Carly didn’t want to give up access to her grandchild. Especially if Morgan was the father and Ava seduced him away from his precious mommy. So the only reasonable thing for her to do was to switch the paternity tests, making Sonny the dad. That would keep Ava from influencing Morgan, but still allow Carly to seize her granddaughter. It’s a classic Carly move!
