GH Star Tajh Bellow Feels Back To Full Strength After Painful Injury

General Hospital viewers may recall there was a time that TJ Ashford was on crutches — that was due to a real-life injury suffered by his portrayer, Tajh Bellow. The actor suffered a great deal, but now he’s letting the world know that he is back to full strength.

Tajh Bellow Fights His Way Back

The actor took to social media to let his followers know about his journey, and it’s incredibly inspiring to see all he went through during this most difficult time.

“I’M. BACK,” he began the caption on his video post on Instagram, which you can see below. “2/10/2020, the morning after my birthday, I suffered the worst injury I have ever experienced. I tore my quadricep off of my knee and couldn’t walk for 6 months. I couldn’t run for 26 months.

“I went through depression multiple times as I adjusted to a new life of stillness, limited mobility, and EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL physical therapy sessions for years,” he continued. “Depression hit the hardest when I was attempting to accept that I would no longer be able to cope with stress through physical outlets like recreational sports and HIIT…. that I would no longer be who I was.

“I found new ways to connect to my body through Yoga, and it strengthened any imbalances I had in my body while lengthening it concurrently. I could have never deadlifted this weight without it!” So how much is he up to now lifting? “405lbs baby,” he wrote, excited. “I’m lit!!!!”

His current and former GH co-workers were quick to add their thoughts on all he’s accomplished, including former onscreen mom Briana Nicole Henry (ex-Jordan Ashford). “So proud of you sweet friend, love you ❤️” she wrote. He responded as any good onscreen son would: “LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU.”
