Franco may be gone and a little forgotten so that General Hospital viewers don’t confuse him with Roger Howarth’s new character, Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt, the son of the late Jimmie Lee (Steve Bond). However, the late Franco’s father, Scotty Baldwin, played by Kin Shriner says that he’s keeping Franco’s family connections alive in scenes where he interacts with the loved ones Franco left behind.
Kin Shriner Talks Scott Staying Connected To Franco’s Family
During a recent GH Fantasy Events get-together with William deVry (ex-Julian), Shriner was asked by an attendee about working with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), Franco’s widow, and Cameron Webber (William Lipton), Franco’s stepson. While Franco has gone to that great soap in the sky, Scotty will still have occasional scenes with the people important in Franco’s life.
“Every time I step on set with those guys, I thoroughly enjoy it,” Kin Shriner told attendees. “William Lipton [Cameron] is a great kid. He’s in college now. He keeps growing up every time I see him! He’s more mature.”
Shriner Loves Working With Herbst
As for Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), Shriner can’t praise her enough. “If somebody said, ‘Who’s your favorite actress to work with on GH?’ it’d be her,” the actor says. “She never says, ‘I don’t think that’s the right cue.’ She adapts. She’s the best actress. She’s also not one to ever say, ‘If you don’t say that then, I can’t say this.'” Shriner dryly quips, “Like some other actors I know — not the one that’s with me on [this] Zoom.”
“You’ve got to be on your toes with Kin,” a good-natured deVry replied. “Becky’s always on her toes,” says Shriner. “No matter what you give her, she’ll adapt. That’s what I really like about her. She’s present.”
