On General Hospital, Morgan has been dead for quite a while but has returned a few times as an apparition, most recently helping Sonny out of a jam. Although he left the show eight years ago, his recent appearance showed that he was still the youthful guy that we knew before his untimely demise, and Craig chalked up his dashing visage to magic.

Morgan Magically Appeared to Sonny

Some might consider it magic when a soap opera like GH has been on the air for over 60 years. However, it’s more likely due to the cast and crew that toil away to make the best show they possibly can, especially with former stars such as Bryan Craig (Morgan), who haven’t forgotten their roots and return whenever their schedule permits.

Recently, Craig returned to GH and his alter ego, Morgan, appeared to his on-screen dad, Sonny (Maurice Benard), in his hour of need. After his daughter Kristina (Kate Mansi) lost her baby, he blamed himself and nearly leaped off of the hospital’s roof until Morgan materialized from the beyond and talked him out of it. Morgan was seemingly killed when a car explosion blew him off of a cliff back in 2016, and this iteration was either an apparition or Sonny’s subconscious.

Either way, fans were glad to see Craig grace their screens again, and so were his castmates.

A Fountain Of Youth

Craig told Soap Opera Digest that while he was being taken care of by the hair and wardrobe departments, GH’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, visited him, remarking, “Wow! You look so good,” adding, “Somehow you look even younger.”

Craig couldn’t help but return the compliment and then explained to his boss, “You know, that’s the General Hospital magic, I guess!”

The GH fountain of youth seems to be far-reaching because when Craig saw West, he explained that the two “Couldn’t believe how young each other looked. I was like, ‘You’ve aged backwards!’”

Obviously, the magic of television comes in many forms, and Craig was thrilled to be back with his soap peers, even if it was for just one episode. Morgan showing up for Sonny when he needed it the most was also like magic, and it didn’t matter if he was a figment of his on-screen dad’s imagination. We were glad to see Morgan’s return and hope he will return for a longer period in the future!
