General Hospital Trouble: What Happened Between Finn and Jackie?

When General Hospital fans last saw Jackie Templeton, she was played by Demi Moore and heading out of town, furious that Robert had thrown her over for Holly. The next we saw her, she was back in Port Charles, now played by Kim Delaney, mama to Chase (Josh Swickard) and former stepmother to Finn (Michael Easton).

An Affair To Remember

When stepmama and stepson are only a few years apart in age (Delaney is 58, Easton 53), there are only a few things that can happen. And 69% of you think the obvious happened: Finn and Jackie had an affair. That’s why he left home, that’s why he doesn’t want anything to do with her, and that’s why he and his dad are estranged. Anything else would be un-soaplike!

A smaller 29% of General Hospital fans don’t believe matters went as far as an all-out affair. You think Jackie simply hit on Finn and, not wanting to get into it, he took off without telling his dad and little brother why. That would make Finn more innocent, and make Jackie seem more sleazy. That sure wasn’t the Jackie we knew in the early 1980s, but, hey, she’s a different woman now…

Reverse Course

And then there’s the 2% of the audience that seems matters in reverse: It was Finn who hit on Jackie, and she’s the one who told him to leave, promising not to tell his father or Chase. Frankly, that does sound more like Jackie.
