General Hospital Star Jacklyn Zeman Suffers A Deep Personal Loss

Condolences are going out to fan-favorite Jacklyn Zeman who plays Bobbie Spencer on General Hospital. Recently, the actress suffered a deep personal loss and shared the news with her followers.

Jacklyn Zeman Pays Tribute To Her Beloved Dog

“God Bless Maddie Girl in heaven,” Jacklyn Zeman shared on Instagram. “She crossed over Rainbow Bridge this past weekend. She brought so much love and happiness into all our lives. Our family will treasure the good times and the love that we have shared forever.” The actress concluded her post with a heart emoji as a symbol of her feelings for her beloved pet.

“Ohhh No! I’m so sorry,” wrote @loisonelane. “I guess I’m just all heart for a German Shepard since I lost mine she was 12.” Other condolences came in from Zeman’s TV daughter Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) and Zeman’s co-star from The Bay, Kira Reed Lorsch (Jo).

GH’s Bobbie Spencer: The Early Years

Zeman’s played the role of Bobbie Spencer, R.N., since 1978. The actress joined the show at a crucial time as GH was in ratings jeopardy. Zeman’s role as ‘have not’ Bobbie, fiercely determined to make a better life for herself, endeared her to legions of GH fans — even though Bobbie went about getting what she wanted using underhanded methods!

Bobbie enlisted the help of her brother Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) to help break up Laura Webber (Genie Francis) and Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner). The plan failed — Laura and Scotty wed after Bobbie’s fake pregnancy scheme was exposed. Bobbie went on to have romances and/or marriages with Roy DiLucca (Asher Brauner; A Martinez), Dr. Noah Drake (Rick Springfield), Dr. Tony Jones (Brad Maule), and Stefan Cassadine (Stephen Nichols).

GH is no stranger to dogs. The Quartermaine family had a pet dog, Annabelle, back in the 1990s; recently, there was a mention that ‘Annabelle 2′ had gobbled up the Quartermaines’ Thanksgiving, prompting the family to have (what else?) pizza for dinner!
