General Hospital C&G News

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.

The week of August 17, 2020

Good news for “Jasam” fans. After a brief absence, Kelly Monaco is back on set filming scenes as Samantha McCall. Monaco had been undergoing an odd 14-day quarantine, despite testing negative for the COVID-19 virus three times, according to her mother, Carmina. Fans can expect to see the actress back on air in scenes with Steve Burton’s Jason, soon.

She was said to have issues with her mask when the soap returned to the set. And masks are now necessary in order to be there for safety’s sake and only come off when the cameras roll.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Hartley, who answered an emergency replacement call for Monaco, has wrapped up filming. The actress took to Instagram to thank the soap for “a fun ride.” Hartley, of course, is best known for her role as Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald on Passions, while also having played Cara Castillo on All My Children and Arianna Hernandez on Days of Our Lives.

Scott Takeda wrapped up his run as Judge Richard Lowe, the official presiding over Michael (Chad Duell) and Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) custody hearing for Wiley, on August 12. In case you missed it, the judge ruled in Michael’s favor and totally admonished Nelle. That didn’t stop Nelle from also planning a kidnapping. Will she succeed in her dastardly plan this time around? Please note that air dates may be subject to change. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
