Kelly Monaco Back On General Hospital Set

According to Soap Opera Digest, the news was revealed by Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) on the podcast he does with the actor who plays Sam’s other half, Jason — Steve Burton.

“So she will be on your screens soon,” confirmed Anderson, while Burton added, “She’s good, she’s healthy and she’s back.” This is terrific news for fans who have loved the character since she first debuted in Port Charles back in 2003 as a love interest for Sonny (Maurice Benard). The character has certainly come a long way since her con artist days.

She has discovered that she is the love child of a very-young-at-the-time Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Julian (William deVry), she’s lost one daughter (Lila) and then later had a son, Danny, with the love of her life, Jason, and also daughter Scout, with Drew (Billy Miller), when she thought he was Jason.

General Hospital was on hiatus for several months due to the shutdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic. When they returned to the set in late July, it was revealed that Monaco was having issues with her mask and asked to take a 14-day break to quarantine. Her mother revealed that fans shouldn’t worry because her daughter was fine.

In the interim, soap vet Lindsay Hartley stepped into the role as Sam had to deal with Jason’s motorcycle accident, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) swooping in to get her kids’ ELQ voting proxies, and him succeeding at dispatching her parole officer who wanted her to stay away from Jason.

The road is now clear for Sam as Monaco steps back into the role. Will she have to deal with the fallout as Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) was able to fill the vacuum at GH that was indirectly caused by her actions? Stay tuned. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
