A Critic’s Review of General Hospital: Options, Options, And Yay Or Nay?

When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.

General Hospital: A Critic’s Week In Review

Peter August (Wes Ramsey) escaped custody and kidnapped Loubailey right out from under Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) noses, and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is poised to do something really, really stupid with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) because he’s gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick blah, blah, blah.

I know that all the above is supposed to be the source of much interest but let me tell you the two things that actually have my interest on General Hospital: whatever the heck is going on with/being done to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), and Kevin Collins’s (Jon Lindstrom) plethora of “patient problems.”

I’m holding out hope that the latter is subtly building towards a big storyline for Kevin and Lindstrom…possibly a return of the dreaded Ryan Chamberlin…possibly the revelation that Kevin’s being investigating Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) past and that he’s finally hit pay dirt. In actuality, I’m probably reading more into it than is necessary. It might just be problems with actual patients.

As far as Liz’s predicament is concerned, I see one of three options: 1) a person unknown is drugging her and manipulating situations, 2) Liz has developed a passive-aggressive alternate personality, or 3) General Hospital is going to go full-on Port Charles and reveal that Franco is haunting her from beyond the grave.

Further GH Musings

* Did Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), and the General Hospital writers, just forget that she and Nina are first cousins? What was all this about being “sorta sisters” because they had Nathan in common?

* I can understand Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) going out of their way to avoid Esme after the cabin debacle, but would they really miss Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) going to prison gathering?

* Possible Ice Princess thieves: Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) and/or Spencer. And speaking of Victor…can we please be apprised of this dude’s endgame already?

* Why, exactly, would Sonny want to recreate his and Carly Corinthos’s (Laura Wright) first marriage? It wasn’t as though it was the happiest of occasions.

* Yay: Brook Lynn and Chase … Nay: Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms).
