Shock Casting: We’re still waiting, breath slightly bated, to find out just who exactly Cameron Mathison will be playing, and now GH reveals that we’ll soon be seeing Charles Shaughnessy on our screens – #YesPlease

Blasts From the Pasts: It’s been nothing short of thrilling to welcome back the likes of Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) and Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), characters who have breathed some life into stale storylines and helped populate the canvas with several…

Potent Pairings: Who would have thought that Britt and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) would become the couple that fans are clamoring for? And aside from Jason, Britt’s also been chem tested opposite Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) – with semi-favorable results.

Meanwhile, the sparks between Shawn and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) were mighty evident on Friday’s show…or was it just us? Surely not.

And here’s hoping that we’ll soon be getting more scenes between Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson).

Ditto Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).

Turning our attention away from ROMANTIC pairings, we’d be remiss if we didn’t advocate for more interactions between Liesl and frenemy Anna, and partners-in-crime busting Shawn and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).

Speaking Truth: When Jax said to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), “I’m the only one acting like a parent,” we felt that; just as deeply as we felt Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) accepting the responsibility for her predicament.

Now, among the long list of things on General Hospital that we could do without, Stella’s selective amnesia – which serves no other purpose than to prolong the Curtis/Portia/Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) triangle – is right up there, along with the idea that all Willow Tait Chase (Katelyn MacMullen) needed was a bout of passionate sex with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to get over her deceased child, and Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) suddenly regained mobility. Oh, and we still hate Nixon Falls.

Further GH Musings

* Something else that pleases us? Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs)…but only in small doses. We see great potential in a comedy duo featuring her and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

* Why were there no children at Wiley’s birthday party? And before you cry out, “COVID, duh,” we’d like to point out that we’re only a few shows removed from Charlotte, Rocco, and Leo having a glitter fight offscreen. So, the other kids COULD have been there, albeit, “in the kitchen,” or, “in the game room,” or, “outside in the garden.”

* Who else feels that Laura Collins’s (Genie Francis) encouraging Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) to move on from Lulu (Emme Rylan) stems from her having spent a decade in a mentally deficient state unable to even recognize her own kin?
