Sutton Stracke is still grappling with her father’s tragic death. On the Tuesday, February 11 episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she returned to the location where he passed. Sutton revealed whether she found closure.
Closing The Door On The Past
Tuesday’s episode was a heavy one. Sutton was trying to get along with her mom, Reba. She told her that she wanted her approval. Sutton believes that her mom was jealous of her relationship with her father. She was closer to her dad. Unfortunately, he died by suicide in 2002.
Sutton returned to the home where he passed. She could still feel his energy. In the RHOBH After Show, Sutton revealed that she still has questions surrounding her father’s death. Her mom didn’t want to return to that home. She exclaimed that “somebody lives there now.” However, Sutton feels that it was difficult for her mom to return. Sutton’s co-star Kyle Richards explained in her solo interview that she understood why Reba didn’t want to go.
But she feels that Reba should have respected her daughter’s decision to “get some sort of closure.” Sutton noted the generational differences between her and her mother. “She had a different relationship with your dad. That was her husband,” Garcelle Beauvais told Sutton. In Season 11, Reba told Sutton that she doesn’t miss him. Sutton realized that she had to let that idea go.

Questioning Her Father’s Death
Sutton still has questions about that day. She understands that her mom wouldn’t because it’s probably “too painful to bring up.” Sutton vows to have a conversation about that day the next time she visits her mom. She still has “questions” that she “hasn’t asked in 22 years.”
But she doesn’t want her mom’s experiences with her father to “infringe on her memories” with him. Sutton wants answers to these questions to “release the blame on my mother.” Reba is a tough woman who doesn’t want to give her daughter love and validation. However, Kyle told producers she believes Reba has a heart underneath that tough exterior. It’s just that she’s been through a lot. Sutton told her co-stars that she believed her mother was only “protecting” her.
