Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune have reached a deal with Sony Pictures Television, giving both game shows new homes. For the first time, fans will be able to stream new episodes the following day. Sony hopes this move will attract a generation of fans.
Major Streaming Deal
The U.S. Sun reported that Jeopardy! and Wheel will move their new episodes to Hulu and Peacock. This is a record-breaking streaming deal. This means that you will be able to stream new episodes the following day. However, this won’t be available until the fall.
“We are thrilled to bring America’s favorite game shows to an even wider audience on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and Peacock. Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are two of the most successful game shows in television history, and we look forward to giving fans the best possible streaming access to our shows this fall,” Sony Pictures Television chairman Keith Le Goy said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Sony is currently in a legal battle with CBS, which has local stations air recent episodes. Sony reportedly sued CBS for breaking their contract and trying to syndicate the programs internationally.
Ratings Battle
Meanwhile, Jeopardy! and WoF have been in a ratings battle this year. Ryan Seacrest replaced Pat Sajak in September 2024. The show got a boost in ratings during the fall, but that changed earlier this year. Jeopardy! has become a juggernaut in the ratings because of its superstar contestants and tournaments.
