Pat Sajak might have hinted about his future on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Despite retiring in early 2024, he’s been hosting the primetime spinoff, and he might be reconsidering retirement.
Final Spin?
Ryan Seacrest replaced Sajak in September 2024. He’s received a warm welcome from fans. What’s helped is his 20-year friendship with co-host Vanna White. It’s obvious that these two get along well. Sajak appeared alongside White for what seemed to be the duo’s last episode together on Tuesday, June 10.
The two co-hosted Celebrity Wheel for 10 episodes in Season 5. Sajak returned for one final spin. Tuesday’s episode featured celebrity guests Bernadette Peters, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Renée Elise Goldsberry, who competed for their respective charities. According to TVInsider, Sajak teased what’s next, and it doesn’t sound like retirement. Surrounded by the celebrities, he told the audience, “See you next season.”

What ABC Has Planned
There’s already a conflict of interest here. ABC already has Seacrest tapped for Celebrity Wheel when it returns in Fall 2025. Last month, it was confirmed that Seacrest would host. The game show will also move to a new night after five seasons.
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune has moved around to different nights, including Mondays and Wednesdays. It originally aired on Thursdays during Season 1. Then, it moved to Sunday for the next two seasons. Now, it’s facing another schedule shakeup.

TV Insider reported that the game show will move to Fridays at 8 p.m. in the fall. It will replace Shark Tank, which used to command the Friday timeslot. ABC wants to move Shark Tank to Wednesday nights, which is interesting considering Mark Cuban left the show. He was the reason for the show’s ratings. What are your thoughts on Sajak’s closing words?
