Vanna White shocked Wheel of Fortune fans with a new candid interview. She made a guest appearance on the Elvin Duran and the Morning Show. During their chat, Vanna shared her thoughts on the game show’s new host, Ryan Seacrest. She also shared she’s still on speaking terms with Pat Sajak.
Sajak Out, Seacrest In
Sajak shocked everyone when he announced his retirement a year ago. Seacrest replaced him in September 2024. White admitted that it was an adjustment for her and everyone involved. She’s co-hosted alongside Sajak for forty years but respected his decision to retire.
White shared an update on Sajak. The two are still in touch today, reports Variety. White and Sajak became good friends. However, some WoF fans noticed that Seacrest brought out White’s personality. White admitted that retirement is doing her former co-host some good. “I saw him a few weeks ago,” she shared. He looks happy. He looks great.”
But what does White really think of Seacrest? “Ryan took over, and he’s doing a great job,” she added. “He told me, ‘No one could ever replace Pat Sajak. I’m just here to fill in.'” Some Wheel watchers have wondered whether Seacrest’s job is only temporary. It’s possible that Maggie Sajak could be waiting in the wings.

The Perfect Job
Also, during the interview, White shocked fans when she shared her work schedule. She revealed that the show films “34 days a year.” The revelation took Elvis Duran and Danielle Monaro by surprise. “That’s it. But [we film] six shows a day. Come on… You could feel bad for me,” White joked.
Duran said he doesn’t feel bad for them. “That sounds like a great job,” he added. White added that she has to do six dress changes per day. That means she gets 331 days throughout the year. Plus, Seacrest and White get to travel the world while they film the show. Not a bad gig. “Yeah, I guess so. I never looked at it like that,” White admitted. She extended her contract by two years in 2023, which means she will co-host through the 2025-2026 seasons.
