Dancing With the Stars Peta Murgatroyd Jokes About the 7 Year Itch

Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are, arguably, Dancing With the Stars‘s greatest love story. The two pro dancers may have competed against each other on the show, but they’re both big winners in the game of life as evidenced by a recent milestone they achieved.

“I guess the 7th year itch didn’t happen?? 🤷🏼‍♀️ haha!” Murgatroyd posted on Instagram along with a photo of the couple’s wedding ceremony from 2017, showing the groom and bride smooching.

“I ❤️you @maksimc …7 years married & 10 years together 🤯” the two-time mirror ball champ continues. “Thank you for flirting with me way back in 2012 and putting the moves on me to get us 3 children, a dog and a beautiful life.”

“7 years married!” Chmerkovskiy posted on his account. “Here’s to another 70 with you, my love! Hottest bride I’ve ever seen and easily the best party I’ve ever been a part of!”

Friends of the couple weighed in with congratulatory messages on their seven-year anniversary. Pro dancers Emma Slater and Daniella Karagach, and former celebrity competitor Nikki Garcia are among the duo’s well-wishers.

Murgatroyd is pregnant with the couple’s third son. The couple’s other two sons, Shai and Rio, were born in, respectively, 2017 and 2023. While she has remained on the show as a pro dancer, Chmerkovskiy has left DWTS, and joined the So You Think You Can Dance as a judge. He’s also appeared on The Traitors.

Chmerkovskiy returned to DWTS last season to take part in a tribute to late judge Len Goodman. Is the ABC reality competition series in their future? Murgatroyd came back to the ballroom to compete not long after giving birth to her first two sons, so it’s quite probable that she’ll do so again this year. As for Chmerkovskiy, it’s never say never. “They got me here tonight!” he told TV Insider on the occasion of his last visit to the reality program.
