Maksim Chmerkovskiy, currently a judge on So You Think You Can Dance, and Peta Murgatroyd not only have three mirror balls from Dancing With the Stars between them but they also have three children including one that’s one the way! Now, the couple is sharing whether or not they’re expecting a baby girl or another boy!

“I’ve been quietly preparing myself to be a real-life wolf pack Mumma with our THIRD baby boy on the way,” Murgatroyd shared in an Instagram post. “I CANNOT BELIEVE WE WILL HAVE 3 BOYS!! Maks and I are beyond happy to have another buddy for [our sons] Shai and Rio…we want them to be the best of friends and thinking about family dinners already makes us laugh! Not to mention when Rio turns 1 , I will give birth to this bundle of joy a couple of weeks later.”
Rio was born in June 2023 so watch for Murgatroyd to give birth sometime in July. Hmm…does that mean she might be able to return to the ballroom floor as a dance pro when Dancing With the Stars returns in September? She’s done it before.
“I was seven weeks post-partum with Shai when I went back to the show [in 2017],” Murgatroyd told TV Insider in June 2023. “It was interesting and amazing at the same time. I feel it was one of the best things for myself after I gave birth. It was a nice way to get back into doing what I love, doing what I did four hours a day.”

As GH fans may recall, Chmerkovskiy, who recently shared a heartbreaking post about his beloved grandmother, did a turn on General Hospital about a decade ago when his character Anton, a handyman at the Metro Court, did a dance at the Nurses Ball with Sam (Kelly Monaco, who happens to be the first celebrity winner on DWTS)!
Murgatroyd and Chmerkovsky’s pals are weighing in with congratulatory messages. “”Aww, Congrats! All that testosterone babe,” says Edyta Sliwinska, an ex-pro who returned to the show last year for the Len Goodman tribute. Emma Slater wrote: “Babe so happy for you!!!” Ex-pro Henry Byalikov wrote: “Congrats you guys!!!!”
