Bachelor in Paradise could heat up your summer in more ways than one. Fans are looking forward to the return of the dating series. It got a major reboot with a new location and with the inclusion of the Golden contestants. Hosts Jesse Palmer and bartender Adam Wells teased a twist that could change the show forever.
Age-Gap Relationships
At first, it was assumed that the Golden contestants and the younger contestants wouldn’t date, let alone interact. However, Palmer shared his thoughts on what could happen on the show. He would be on board with an age gap relationship. This would reflect the ever-changing times and dating trends.

“This happens all the time in the real world. Look at Bill Belichick right now. It’s happening in front of us,” Palmer teased Us Weekly. “I don’t know if it will, but I think it’ll be cool to have the Goldens around. The thing that I love about The Golden Bachelor so much is they’ve lived so much more life that their advice, their conversations, the stakes for them are just so much bigger.”
The Goldens have been through a lot of love and loss. They could also pass on some wisdom to the younger contestants. Palmer hopes that the show will focus on that. “Outside of them having a second shot at finding love, I’m really interested to see the perspectives that the Golden cast bring, educating our younger cast on life and love. I think there’s a lot of value there,” he added.
What To Expect
Also, in the interview, Palmer teased what fans could expect this season. Though it’s gotten a facelift, BIP will still “have a lot of elements that feel very similar to what we’ve seen in the past. I think there may be a few new elements along the way as well,” he said.
This series will also have “a lot of fan favorites at home from Bachelor Nation.” Many of them will show up on the island. Wells teased that this season will also have plenty of drama. Many of the Bachelor Nation contestants attended the Stagecoach Festival before they went to Costa Rica. What happens at Stagecoach does not stay at Stagecoach.

“They were all staying at the same house. So, you know people were doing Paradise stuff before they were supposed to do Paradise stuff, so [I predict] there’s going to be drama with that,” Wells said. Many of them interacted on social media as well. Well has “high” hopes that the Stagecoach drama will play out on screen.
Bachelor in Paradise returns on Monday, July 7 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. New episodes stream the following day on Hulu.
