Grey’s Anatomy has been on for 15 crazy seasons, which means the show has gone through its fair share of characters. From patients dying to doctors dying — and everything in between — there are countless people fans will never get to see again.
But, there are a handful of beloved characters who could potentially return to Seattle, even just for one episode. Here is a list of the Top 5 characters we would like to see walk the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital once more.
1. Dr. Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh)
Meredith misses her person! Cristina is succeeding big time in Switzerland, but viewers desperately want to see her return to Seattle. Though Oh is off doing big things on Killing Eve, it’d be fun to see her come back for just one episode. Plus, fans need to see the Twisted Sisters dance it out at least one more time!
2. Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh)
Addison only came to Seattle in the first place to try to repair her marriage to Derek Shepherd, but she quickly became a fan favorite. Not only is she smart, but she’s also a strong woman who believes in herself. Viewers know she’s moved on to start her private practice in California, but we’d like to see her come back.

3. Dr. Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman)
Casual Grey’s Anatomy viewers may have missed Nick, but dedicated fans have been praying for his return. Nick was one of Meredith’s patients back in Season 14, and the pair had electric chemistry. Since Derek’s passing, Nick’s really been the first person Meredith’s truly connected with so he should return to win Mer’s heart.
4. Dr. April Kepner (Sarah Drew)
Why did April have to leave so soon?! Though she started out as a slightly annoying character, April definitely grew on fans. She’s feisty and determined, and she also had a very special relationship with Jackson Avery. Though she’s moved on with Matthew, it’d be great to see her come back at some point.
5. Dr. Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl)
Last but certainly not least, it’d be interesting to see Izzie return to Seattle. She’s not necessarily a fan favorite after the way she left Alex Karev back in Season 6, but if she did return, it’d certainly cause some drama. Plus, though it’s been almost a decade, it’d be nice for Alex to have some closure on that relationship.
