Sonny made a dumb decision when he dumped Paul in hopes of reuniting with Will on Days of Our Lives (DOOL).
Obviously, Sonny (Freddie Smith) is still carrying a torch for his estranged husband, but there’s a major problem. Will (Chandler Massey) doesn’t remember Sonny, let alone their love story. And that’s expressly why Sonny should have chosen Paul (Christopher Sean) over him.
Hopelessly Devoted
Paul has been hopelessly devoted to Sonny for years. It’s his love for Sonny that finally gave him the courage to come out of the closet and admit he was gay. When Will was “murdered,” Paul is the one who stood by Sonny as a caring supportive friend.
In time, Paul and Sonny reconnected, became lovers, and planned to wed. If Will hadn’t resurfaced, they’d be happily married. And Sonny would have a husband who loves him more than anyone in the world.
A Missing Spark
Meanwhile, Will not remembering Sonny is only a small part of the problem. He doesn’t seem at all attracted to his estranged husband either. Remember, when Sonny initially kissed Will, he pushed him away.
It didn’t trigger anything between them. Who’s to say Will will ever have that romantic spark with Sonny again? It might be long gone, just like his memories, and never coming back — which is going to leave Sonny pretty lonely… and frustrated.
Crushing on Paul
When it comes to sparks, however, Will is definitely feeling them when he’s around Paul. He’s majorly drawn to the man he once had an affair with and seeing Paul shirtless, again, only intensified things. Will even went so far as to plant a passionate kiss on Paul.
Yet, he won’t give Sonny a tumble. Sonny might be wise to rethink his romantic future and quick. If not, he might find himself the odd man out in this triangle. Paul’s feeling down and out, and Will’s all too eager to make him smile again. Paul turned to Will before, and who’s to say he might not do it again?
