What Ever Happened To Days of our Lives Playboy Philip Kiriakis?

He’s loved and he’s lost. Women, children, jobs, everything his heart has ever desired. A lesser man would let that break him, but not Days of our Lives Philip Kiriakis, the soldier boy who soldiers on.

Who Is Philip Kiriakis?

Though he is the biological offspring of Victor Kiriakis and his then finacée, Kate Roberts, Philip Robert – who was born through in vitro fertilization – was carried by Vivian Alamain, who had hoped the pregnancy would endear her to Victor, her magnificent obsession.

Philip entered the world on what was to have been his parents’ wedding had Vivian not interrupted the service, which was being held at the Salem Inn. As a teenager, Philip associated with Jan Spears and Jason Welles and joined them in their bullying of fellow Salem High School student Chloe Lane.

Philip was forced to accompany “Ghoul Girl” to the school’s annual dance – the result of losing a bet with good pal Shawn Douglas – but he was bowled over by Chloe’s stunning appearance at the event.

In fact, he was so taken with his date that he allowed himself to fall victim to the prank that he, Jan, and Jason had engendered to humiliate her. Over time, Philip and Chloe fell for one another, but they were driven apart by a number of factors including his lie concerning Victor’s supposed death, Chloe’s vindictive accusation of rape, her interest in Brady Black, and his choosing to believe that she had purposefully posed for salacious photos that were distributed around the school.

Post-graduation, Philip enlisted in the military – and joined the ISA as a special undercover officer. He returned to Days of our Lives under the auspice of reuniting with his friends and family, but he was actually on assignment to prove Tony DiMera (really Andre posing as Tony) guilty of illegal activities.

Days of our Lives Love Triangle 
Philip began to court Belle Black and in time, he proposed marriage. When he was called to active duty in Iraq, the couple agreed to move up the date of the wedding so Philip would ship out a married man.

While carrying out a mission, Philip was severely wounded and the injuries necessitated the removal of the lower portion of his left leg. He returned home, to his wife, unaware that she had been preparing to leave him for her one true love, Shawn Douglas.

Belle privately recommitted herself to her marriage and she soon learned that she was expecting – though she was unsure whether the baby’s father was Philip or Shawn Douglas.

She and Philip happily welcomed Claire into their family but plans for a second child were derailed when the fertility clinic they turned to impregnated Belle with Shawn Douglas’ sperm and his wife, Mimi, with Philip’s.

Belle miscarried the child she was carrying, and the child Mimi delivered, Tyler, was given up for adoption. In time, the truth about Claire’s paternity was revealed – she was biologically Shawn Douglas’s – and the news devastated Philip.

The Kiriakis marriage was torn asunder and – after Philp briefly re-enlisted in the army and suffered serious facial lacerations – a bitter custody battled ensued. Philip gained legal custody but he relented and allowed the child to be raised by her natural parents.

Corporate Intrigue

Philip threw himself into the running of Titan (where Victor had installed him as CEO) and quickly found himself the object of both Stephanie Johnson and Melanie Layton’s affection. He was also embroiled in the battle to obtain the patents to an alternative fuel project that Melanie had invented.

The corporate intrigue culminated with the (supposed) death of Tony DiMera and instigated a brutal war between the Kiriakis and DiMera families. In the aftermath of a cease-fire, Philip committed himself to Melanie, but their marriage would prove to be short-lived – she was actually in love with Nathan Horton.

Phillip turned to Chloe, and she became pregnant after their one-night stand. However, she was unsure of the baby’s paternity, seeing as how she had also been sexually intimate with Daniel Jonas. A medical test named Daniel the father but after Caroline Brady admitted to tampering with it, Philip obtained custody of the boy.

Philip Kiriakis – Where Is He Now?
Years later, following a brief respite in Chicago, Philip returned to town and once again romanced both Belle – who couldn’t bring herself to accept his marriage proposal – and Chloe – whom he went into business with.

But thanks to the machinations of his uncle Deimos, Philip decided to once again leave Salem behind…and this time he promised it was for good. He did see his high school pals at the Last Blast Reunion in New York, but that was the last he was seen. Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
