Days of our Lives had been flirting with a Hope and Rafe reunion. There’s only one problem, actress Kristian Alfonso is leaving the soap, while Galen Gering will happily be returning as the Salem cop.
Days of our Lives Love Lives
So, sorry fans. It’s time to forget Rope. It’s not going to happen. Here are three serious options for Rafe, moving forward.
Nicole
With word out that Greg Vaughan is exiting his role as Eric Brady, the character’s new marriage to Nicole obviously doesn’t last. Nicole is going to need a new man, and who better than her old friend, Rafe.
Arianne Zucker and Gering were briefly paired years back when Rafe pretended to be the father of Nicole’s unborn child with EJ. There was a nice rapport between the characters and just think of the fireworks when Sami learns her ex-husband and nemesis are together?
Chloe
Everyone’s assuming Nadia Bjorlin’s return as Chloe shortly after Jay Kenneth Johnson’s return as Philip, means an automatic reunion for the two former high school sweethearts. But what if the DAYS writers throw viewers a curve and have Chloe suddenly develop an interest in Rafe?
He’s a great stable good guy. Plus, Chloe’s son, Parker, needs a stepfather, and there’s no one better equipped for that role in Salem than Rafe. Just ask Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Allie (Lindsay Arnold).
Bonnie
Although she’s been mad about Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and growing closer to Justin, Bonnie (Judi Evans) is going to have to eventually see the light and move on. He’s just not that into her – or into her at all, for that matter. And while she might resemble Justin’s (Wally Kurth) wife, Adrienne, it’s likely he’ll never see her as anything but the woman who caused his late wife so much pain.
So what about Bonnie turning her attention to Rafe? He’s tall, dark, and handsome, and someone she hasn’t alienated — yet. It would be an unlikely match, but it could prove interesting, watching shady Bonnie trying to make romantic inroads with do-gooder Rafe. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
