DAYS spoilers recap for Thursday, June 21, 2022, features Paulina Price becoming Mrs. Abraham Carver and Lani Price Grant’s speech ruining everyone’s good time.
It was a day of remembrance and celebration as Abe (James Reynolds) and Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) put together a quick celebration. They gathered their children, family, and friends to honor Juneteenth and say their vows.
Abe spent his morning running the wedding errands. He picked up the cake and teacakes from Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), who was honored to make the special treats. He invited her to the ceremony along with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) before heading home to get himself put together.
Paulina also had people to gather. She stopped at the pub to see Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). Luckily, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) was there too and agreed to officiate. Oh, joy!
Meanwhile, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) went to the DiMera mansion to hint about needing a videographer to Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). He was more than happy to help, especially since it got him an invite to the special day.
Back at Paulina’s place, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) got a lesson about Juneteenth from Olivia Price (Marla Gibbs) and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey). They told her the reason for the holiday and how it marked the official freedom from slavery.
As for Lani (Sal Stowers), she was at home being haunted by her dead dad. So much so, a knock at the door by Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) set her off and she had to cover up why she looked so scared. She then took off to Paulina’s to be deemed Matron of Honor to Chanel’s Maid of Honor. Why not have both?!
When the wedding finally began, it was a beautiful ceremony full of love. Eli walked his mother-in-law down the aisle. Paulina stopped to thank her mama before taking her place with Abe. They said their own vows, shared a few laughs, and couldn’t wait to kiss as man and wife. All while Lani was still being tormented by a very dead TR Coates.
The reception started off equally as beautiful. Chanel caught the bouquet — much to the pleasure of both DiMera twins. Then the speeches began with Lani starting the round of good cheer. It didn’t last, though. With her dead dad staring over her shoulder, she decided now was the time to confess.
Eli frantically tried to stop his wife from making a huge mistake. Paulina did too. However, an unaware Olivia hushed everyone with a loud “let the child speak.” And so, Lani did. She told everyone her mother didn’t shoot TR — she did! Jaws dropped to the floor.
