The DAYS spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 10, 2022, features amateur sleuths accomplishing more in one day than the whole Salem Police Department has done for months on end.
Dodgy Irish accent — Liam Neeson it most decidedly wasn’t — and the fact that his priest character was caught snogging Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) managed to not only infiltrate the warden’s office at Statesville, but he and his fiancée managed to download everything on the conveniently located laptop.

Back at their fortress of solitude, Xander and Sarah poured over the contents of the haul and came upon some interesting notations. Turns out, in addition to Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) and Sarah herself, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) had not one but two further visitors — Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).
Now, just what would Ava and Gwen have to talk about? It’s not as though they were friends — not after Ava sold Gwen up the river. This necessitates more investigating!
Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) has the perfect cure for what ails Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn): a job at Titan…if only the opening hadn’t been filled by Alexander Neil Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson)…on Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) orders. That really got Sonny’s goat!
Thanks to a series of comical incidents — how is it that bath towels and robes know the precise moment to slip off and show the goods? — Ava and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) got to know one another on a rather intimate level, and they liked what they saw. This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship — or something altogether more!
Speaking of first impressions, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) made a good one when she had the fortune to run into Alex, and vice versa. Thanks to his *ahem* charms, Alex scored a guided tour around the new and improved Salem courtesy of Chanel and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), and all it’s going to cost him is the priciest of pricey meals.
* If she had to do it over again, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) probably would leave Gwen to rot in Statesville; good thing she’s not the kind to dwell on past mistakes. Instead, Kristen is concerned with the here and now and specifically with getting Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash) up and about.
* Gwen is in a pickle, and she wants some assurances from Ava that her little sojourn from the big house won’t become public knowledge. Ava assures Gwen that her secret is safe.
* Sonny thinks that Chad should seek professional help. Chad disagrees. The subject is therefore closed.
