Condolences are going out to Lauren Koslow, who plays Kate on Days of our Lives. The veteran fan favorite who started out on soaps as Lindsey on Young and the Restless, and later, played Margo on Bold and the Beautiful, is sharing news of her loss.
Loving Daughter
Koslow shared on Instagram that her beloved mother has died — just shy of a milestone birthday. “My mom passed on last week just two months shy of her 100th trip around the sun birthday celebration,” the actress posted. “It was unexpected exit even at her age but that was her style.
“Milli was one of the most spontaneous, dynamic, adventurous, complicated, passionate, funny & powerful women I’ve ever known – an artist, storyteller, traveler & businesswoman. A mom, grandmother and wife. I’ll miss you forever and a day but I’m glad you’re reunited with the love of your life – kiss Daddy for us. I love you mama.”
Koslow’s added to her a poem from E.E. Cummings, which reads: “To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best day and night to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight and never stop fighting.”
She added from writer Maria Popova, creator of The Marginalian: “One of the hardest realizations in life, and one of the most liberating, is that our mothers are neither saints nor saviors — they are just people who, however messy or painful our childhood may have been, and however complicated the adult relationship, have loved us the best way they knew how, with the cards they were dealt and the tools they had. It is a whole life’s work to accept this elemental fact, and a life’s triumph to accept it not with bitterness but with love.”
“Big hugs Lauren. I understand what ur going through,” posted Thaao Penghlis (Tony; ex-Andre). “It will always remain one of ur greatest journeys: that in this life you walked together but separately. Much love & great heart.”
Added Valerie Wildman (ex-Fay): “Dear Lauren, my heart goes out to you. I can relate to everything that you have said and I’m sending you so much love. Love and Miss You.”
Soap Hub sends sincere condolences to Koslow and her family at this difficult time.
