Because she doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on in criminal court, Nicole and Belle have convinced Allie to sue Tripp in civil court on Days of our Lives.
But who needs a guest star in a black robe to hand down a verdict when almost 6,000 fans can answer the question: Did Tripp rape Allie?
We thought we’ve had landslides before, but this one beats them all, as over 99% of the audience voted an emphatic NO. To start with, Allie (Lindsay Arnold) was so drunk the night Henry was conceived, she doesn’t even remember how she got home.
But she remembers the guy who raped her? Second, you’d think if Tripp really had done it, once the DNA test proved he was Henry’s dad, wouldn’t he have changed his story to he thought the sex was consensual?
Once again, Allie had no proof beyond a memory that Nicole (Ariane Zucker) practically browbeat her into dredging up. And, finally, there’s the note Tripp insisted he left. Why would we dwell on that if it never happened? It doesn’t help his case in any way, and where did it go?
Besides, the real culprit is so obviously Charlie (Mike Manning). He just told Claire (Isabel Durant) he has a brother he’s not in touch with. Do we need to draw you a picture? The only remaining question is if he’s a long-lost twin or just Ava’s (Tamara Braun) child with someone else?
All of the above doesn’t matter, less than 1% of the viewers shrug. Allie said it happened, so it happened, end of story. Just put Tripp in jail and throw away the key. Don’t even give him the chance to present a defense. A court case would be an insult to Allie. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
