On Days Of Our Lives, Bonnie has gone from a trashy schemer who’d happily use her own granddaughter to pull off a scam to a published author who magnanimously donated her earnings to a breast cancer research charity.
She’s now respectable enough to hang out with Justin (Wally Kurth) and only has Victor (John Aniston) grumble about it. Victor grumbles about everything. So maybe Bonnie (Judi Evans) is happier, but how do the fans feel about this personality change? Here’s what several thousand DOOL fans told us.
A majority 75% of you like Bonnie better now that her rough edges have been sanded off. Now that she is no longer herself but rather other people’s version of what it means to be proper, you can stomach her for the long haul.
A much smaller 14% of the audience misses the old Bonnie. The one who lied and schemed and kidnapped and blackmailed and watched porn movies with Hattie (Deidre Hall) and binged on burgers.
She was a breath of fresh air amongst all the “good” people of Salem, one who didn’t censor what she said or wasted time feeling bad about what she’d done. This PodBonnie is too much like everyone else.
Not surprisingly, 11% of fans want her back. Forge Justin, forget winning over people who don’t deserve your paying them any mind, and go back to being the old Bonnie. Drink, laugh, eat, sleep around, do whatever you want. You make us laugh on a show where everyone else’s goal is to make us cry. You do you, Bonnie. Never change. Let Justin alter who he is in order to be worthy.
