Days of our Lives Recap: Lexie Sends Abe Back To His Loved Ones

The Days of our Lives recap for Monday, October 25, 2021, features an adequate tribute to one of daytime television’s most talented performers, and the Devil settling a score with an old foe.

Abe Carver (James Reynolds), this is your life in a nutshell. You were married to a goddess named Lexie Brooks – who, three recasts later, was played by an actress named Renée Jones, who looked an awful lot like one of your other girlfriends, Nikki Wade.

You and she welcomed a son into the world, you uncovered the startling fact that she was Stefano DiMera’s biological child – which really should have been a deal-breaker – and you had to forgive her a whole host of trespasses including bedding your son and participating in a baby switch. Luckily, you were both in a good place when she passed away from a brain tumor.

A lot of other things have transpired during your lifetime, but they weren’t really touched upon. You were partners with Roman Brady at the cop shop, but they couldn’t use scenes from that era, because he was played by Wayne Northrop, and not current incumbent Josh Taylor.

You had a brother who was murdered by a crooked detective, but no one remembers him, nor the fact that your son was named in memory of him. You’ve had a LOT of romances that went absolutely nowhere – and now you’re engaged to a woman keeping one heck of a secret from you. But hey, lots to live for – so we’re glad you came on back to the land of the living!

DOOL: The Devil Made Her Do It

Points to John Black (Drake Hogestyn) for so quickly realizing that Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) was under Satan’s thrall – and not for the first time. Points deducted for failing to do anything about Marlena’s repossession, other than get tossed around and rendered unconscious. Whatever MarDevil does to you next, you’ve brought on yourself.
