There was scuttlebutt that Casey Moss was leaving his role as JJ Deveraux on Days of Our Lives after the actor was a no-show at last year’s annual Day of DAYS event. Now, there are reports that the actor is wrapping up his stint as Jack and Jennifer’s son next month during February sweeps.
Casey Moss Exits
Soaps.com reports that Moss will be leaving the show in February. Viewers have learned in the recent ‘time jump’ explanation episodes that Casey lost his girlfriend Haley (Thia Megia), who went to that great soap in the sky after struggling with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) in the stairwell.
This is the second loss JJ has endured; his other girlfriend, Paige (True O’Brien), was murdered by serial killer Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), now reformed. JJ’s other love interests include Gabi (Camila Banus) and Lani (Sal Stowers).
Moss joined DAYS in May 2013. JJ got tongues wagging when he embarked on a scandalous affair with Paige’s mother Eve (Kassie DePaiva). The actor scored a Daytime Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Younger Leading Actor in 2018 for the storyline in which JJ, then a rookie cop, shot Theo (Kyler Pettis).
In heartbreaking scenes, a suicidal JJ nearly took his own life, anguished over his actions. Later, JJ helped save Haley from her own suicide attempt and the show went on to tell a story about immigration with Haley and her mother, Melinda Trask, Salem’s assertive district attorney, played by Laura Kai Chen.
JJ quit the police force and became a paramedic. He brought Adrienne (Judi Evans) to the hospital the night of the fatal crash, which was revealed in the recent ‘time jump’ explanation episodes.
At press time, Moss had not either confirmed or denied the reports of his exit on social media. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
