But is this just a matter of Gabi (Camila Banus) wanting to make Lani (Sal Stowers) suffer… or does she really love the man? It’s hard to fool a soap fan! Here’s what almost 12,000 think is really going on:

Gabi is most definitely not in love with Eli (Lamon Archey), 90% of the audience asserts. She wasn’t in love with him the first time they dated. She liked him well enough. And she was (rightfully) furious that he cheated on her with Lani — then lied about her subsequent pregnancy.
But Gabi’s dominant emotion these days isn’t love, it’s vengeance. And it’s not vengeance over Eli’s little slip-up back in the day. Gabi has so moved on from that. Gabi’s wrath these days is aimed at Lani for killing the man Gabi truly loved, Stefan (Brandon Barash). Eli is only a tool to hurt Lani with, nothing more.

Sure, she’s having nightmares about Eli leaving her for Lani. That’s because she’s terrified of the woman who killed her husband being happy. Not that she’s terrified of Eli leaving her.
Gabi And Eli: Grown To Love
A much smaller 10% of Days of our Lives fans interpreted Gabi’s nightmare as an admission of feelings she herself might not even be aware of yet. Gabi may have started with a plan to stick it to Lani (by letting Eli stick it to her), but it’s obviously turned into something more than that. Gabi and Eli never got a fair chance the first time around. They both deserve a do-over.
