Days of our Lives Recap, Tuesday, July 9: Claire Said Goodbye

The Days of Our Lives recap for Tuesday, July 9 features a day of apologies, peace offerings, and secret schemes as everyone said farewell to Claire. The judge fast-tracked her case and doled out some well-needed consequences.

The Truth About Claire
News of Claire’s (Olivia Rose Keegan) crimes and condition spread like wildfire around town. John (Drake Hogestyn) paid Victor (John Aniston) a visit to give him the lowdown and the men drank their sorrows away. Victor suggested pulling strings to save Claire and punish Eve (Kassie DePaiva) but John talked him out of it.

Another Ploy? 
Evepaid Claire a visit and begged for her forgiveness. She should have helped instead of hindered, and she certainly should not have used Claire in her evil plots. She vowed to make things right. But, was this all from the heart or a ploy?

Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) caught Eve in the room and confronted her. Much to their shock, Claire stuck up for Eve and swore the commissioner did not know she set the fires. Thankfully, the ladies saw through the lies.

Eve left the hospital and ran smack dab into Hope (Kristian Alfonso). Mere seconds ago Hope was chatting up Eli about taking Eve down and all the content on Claire’s phone. Hope just had to brag about Eli logging the cell into evidence. Lo and behold, within the hour the phone was missing and Eve warned Eli to get off her back — or else!

Tripp (Lucas Adams) got a shock when he found Haley (Thia Megia) in Claire’s room. He was delighted she was there, happy to hear she was staying and even offered to let her and JJ move in. Haley politely declined, though.

Making Peace
They headed to the hospital to see Claire. They were just in time, too. The judge issued a swift decision and Claire was heading to Bayview for treatment instead of going to trial. Everyone recognized she needed help instead of jail time.

Goodbye… For Now
Claire shared may heartfelt farewells with her loved ones. She made peace with Ciara, apologized to Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), and shared a tender moment with Tripp.

Belle and Shawn decided to stay in Salem and support their daughter while and everyone promised to visit her in the hospital as often as they could. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
