The holidays are a fun time for people to put up decorations, and no one has more fun than the Horton family on Days of Our Lives. They have an ornament for every member of the family, and create new ones for every family member who comes out of the woodwork and wasn’t known about before. There are plenty of other kinds of Christmas decorations including food that can be made to look festive. The show recently held a cookie decorating contest and fans had fun voting on their favorite one.
Things Were Sugar Coated
The DAYS official Instagram page put out a contest: “Decorating cookies, Horton-style! 🍪✨ Some of the cast took on a fun cookie decorating challenge with a twist — they’re shaped like the iconic Horton ornaments! Now, it’s up to YOU, the fans, to decide who wins this holiday cookie contest. Comment below with the number corresponding with the cookie you want to win. Tomorrow, we’ll reveal who made each cookie and the winner!”
Various actors joined in and created some beautiful and yummy-looking cookie designs. The participants who shared their creative expertise were Paul Telfer (Xander), Galen Gering (Rafe), John-Paul Lavoisier (Philip), Kennedy Garcia (Felicity), Cherie Jimenez (Gabi), and Eric Martsolf (Brady). When the fan votes were tallied, the show’s page posted, “Thousands of votes came in and ONLY 48 votes separated first and second place! The winner of the 2024 Cast ‘Horton Ornament’ Cookie Decorating Contest is…Paul Telfer!! 🎉💙 In a very close second place, Galen Gering, congratulations! Thank you all for participating! Slide through to see who made each cookie.”

Winner Telfer was humbled by the award, replying, “Aw shucks! I never used to win things like this when I was a kid — thanks to everyone who took the time to vote! ❄️🏴🤗🏴❄️,” and congratulations came in from all over. An eagle-eyed fan noted, “Congrats Paul! Your blue hands show your true dedication to the cookie decorating 😆.”
One fan who loved the idea also had a suggestion for telfer, commenting, “Congratulations, @paultelfer! 👏👏👏 You need to be in a @hallmarkchannel movie where you own a bakery! 😉.” Referring to the recent storyline where a judge ordered that Xander and Philip split their inheritance 50/50, making them co-CEOs of Titan, one viewer hilariously replied, “At least he won the whole thing instead of half 😂😂.”
