Days of our Lives moved November sweeps right along this week with truth bombs and shocking revelations. Here’s a look at some of the best moments from the week of November 17-21.
Key Takeaways
- New answers lead to more questions for some fan favorites.
- The one that got away for three Salem men.
- Family drama leads Chad to do something that makes no sense.
- Another Friday cliffhanger that was not expected.
Marlena Finally Gets A Diagnosis, But Is It Real?
After her collapse at the gala, Marlena (Deidre Hall) was finally given some good news. Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) saw a rash and diagnosed Marlena with carditis, inflammation of the heart, from Lyme disease. Sarah blamed EJ’s (Daniel Feuerriegel) hospital budget cuts for Marlena’s previous Lyme disease test coming back negative.
However, we can’t help but think there’s more to this story. A lab mishap seems lackluster considering Marlena has been ill for months and has been having Queen of the Night dreams. Something tells us Marlena’s health issues are far from over, and this diagnosis is not the real deal.
DiMera Sibling Bonding At Its Best
Watching Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Tony (Thaao Penghlis) reunite in the DiMera crypt was so entertaining, and yes, all signs do point to him being Tony, not Andre (Thaao Penghlis). The way they realized that they were in the DiMera crypt, and Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) wasn’t, so casually, was laugh-out-loud funny.
That was nothing, though, compared to listening to them nonchalantly rattle off everyone who would want to kidnap them. Their dynamic as they tried to solve their situation was just good old-fashioned soap bliss. Hats off to Haiduk and Penghlis, who delivered outstanding performances as the DiMera siblings in peril.
All of Sami’s Men
The news of Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) engagement is living rent-free in the heads of EJ, Rafe (Galen Gering), and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo). Having the three of them drown their sorrows over it together was the stuff soaps are made of, especially as their history with Sami was front and center.
EJ was perched at the bar at the Brady Pub, while Lucas and Rafe shared a table to reflect on the one that got away. In true good-guy fashion, Rafe and Lucas were brutally honest about their feelings as EJ snickered until he was all alone to express his real feelings. All of it was such a joy to watch.
Chad Moves Out After Some Questionable Advice
The custody battle between Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Chad (Billy Flynn) is on. Chad followed Jeremy’s (Michael Roark) advice and left the Horton family home to put space between him and Jennifer, but he left his kids behind. Jeremy thinks it will do Thomas (Cary Christopher) no good to have Chad at the house.
However, it doesn’t seem like the best move amid a custody battle, and it also seems very unlike Chad. We were shocked because we thought Chad would channel his inner DiMera and take those kids to the DiMera mansion.
As Soap Hub reported, the stage is being set for Flynn’s exit, and this seems part of it.
Rachel Remembers Shooting EJ
Once again, DAYS delivered a powerful Friday cliffhanger that we never saw coming. Rachel (Alice Halsey) was all set to poison Sarah after all the dirty little details she learned about her. But at the last minute, Rachel changed her mind and tried to stop Sarah from eating the ice cream, but it was too late.
If that wasn’t enough, the incident triggered Rachel’s memory of shooting EJ. The look on Rachel’s face left us in our feels as she realized she shot her uncle, not her mother. What a way to end the week, Sarah grasping for air and Rachel in shock.
