Steve and Kayla have been on – and off – Days of our Lives since the early 1980s. He’s gone blind, she’s gone deaf. He found long-lost siblings, she married his brother. Their kids are out of town, but Steve’s surprise son is still around.
So they’ve got a lot happening around them, but not much between them. What adventure would almost 2,000 viewers like them to embark on next?
A majority 60% of the audience wants to go back to the glory days and send Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) to investigate a mystery. With both Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), and Shane (Charles Shaughnessy), and Kimberly (Patsy Pease) off the canvas, Steve and Kayla are one of the only couples still left from those days (hi Jarlena!). Remember their adventures on location? The tropics? Down south! Mysterious foreign lands? We’d like some more of that, please.
A smaller 28% of you are fine with Tripp (Lucas Adams). But you’d be even finer if Joey were to come home, too. First, Steve and Kayla’s son was in prison, but he’s out now. He was out for, maybe a day, before he decided his future lies in London. Nope, his future lies in Salem. Because Steve and Kayla’s future depends on it, too.
Only 12% feel the same way about Stephanie. She hasn’t been seen in close to a decade, except for a wedding. We can’t even remember if she’s a race car driver or some kind of executive anymore.
DAYS could use more spunky young ladies in Salem, and we can’t imagine that Steve and Kayla’s daughter would be anything but. There’s also a dearth of young couples. Stephanie could help with that, too. And if, along the way, Mom and Dad got a story… Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
