It’s been a while since Carrie Brady and Austin Reed have popped up in Salem, but the popular Days of our Lives couple, played by Christie Clark and Austin Peck, were just announced as being cast additions for the spinoff, Beyond Salem.
Christie Clark and Austin Peck Reprise Their Roles
According to a press release, Clark and Peck will reprise their roles for the upcoming Peacock mini-series, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, which will find Lisa Rinna’s Billie Reed following a big mystery. While Christie Clark popped in on the show in 2019 to visit her mom, Austin Peck hasn’t been back since 2017, though both did take part in the app special, Chad and Abby in Paris two years ago. But they aren’t the only ones who will be joining the show.
Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley will also be bringing their characters, Andre DiMera and Anna DiMera. Of course, the news that Penghlis is playing his supposedly dead character Andre and not Tony is something interesting to note. They will all take part in the hunt for the stolen gems across the globe.
The official synopsis for the special limited series reveals the events will take place over a long weekend, with many of the show’s stars appearing as they make their way out of Salem. For instance, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) will travel to Zurich, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) enjoy a romantic getaway in New Orleans, Abe Carver (James Reynolds), Paulina Price (Jackée Harry), Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers), and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) vacation in Miami, and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) will visit some “old friends” in Phoenix.
All of these travelers find themselves in a mystery involving some stolen jewels, and it’s up to ISA agent Reed to find the treasure—interacting with her former Salem neighbors along the way.
It’s not out of the question that other Days of our Lives specials could follow, especially if the numbers are high for this initial run, so that could mean characters like Carrie and Austin as well as the others might be incorporated into even more stories down the line. There’s no question that Sami could use her sister, and Austin’s mom, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) could benefit from some time with her son as well. Let’s hope this is only the beginning and we see more of Christie Clark and Austin Peck!
