After breaking into the daytime medium as Fenmore Baldwin on The Young and the Restless, Zach Tinker has inked a contract to portray Sonny Kiriakis on Days of our Lives. He debuted in the role via the Peacock specials, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem and Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas, before segueing to the NBC soap.

Born in New York City, Tinker moved to Los Angeles at the age of 3 and began acting in elementary school. He later became a theater major at Loyola Marymount University. Tinker made his television debut in 2015 via a guest spot in an episode of Murder in the First, and from there, his career was off and running.

Tinker was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2019 for his role as Fenmore on Y&R.

3. He comes from some serious show business roots. Tinker is the son of television producer and writer John Tinker and Lori Mozilo, who is an executive at Disney.

4. Meanwhile, he’s the grandson of the late Grant Tinker, who served as chairman and CEO of NBC from 1981 to 1986 and co-founded MTM Enterprises while he was wed to legendary actress Mary Tyler Moore.

5. Tinker originally planned to become a writer, following in his dad’s footsteps. However, after participating in a theatrical production of Stephen Belber’s Tape, he decided to pursue a career in acting.

6. He was once romantically involved with his former Y&R co-star Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter), but the couple have since gone their separate ways.

7. He’s a baseball fan, who appears to be torn between two teams. In a Twitter post, he dons a unique cap with both the Dodgers and Yankees logos on it.
