Should The Bold and the Beautiful Bring Stephanie Back from the Dead?

Soaps do it all the time even though it’s not realistic. We’re talking about bringing people back from the dead — or from their presumed deaths — so that characters can turn their loved ones’ lives upside down and inside out. We’re wondering if The Bold and the Beautiful might do this with the show’s late matriarch?

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Stephanie Is Dead — For Now

Stephanie Forrester, played by original cast member Susan Flannery, died in 2012 after a 25-year-run as the Forrester matriarch, a role that brought her portrayer three Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

Rather than have her go out in a blaze of vengeance (imagine if she’d framed Brooke for her “murder”), Stephanie and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) made peace, and Steph passed away in her daughter-in-law’s arms.

Let Stephanie Rest In Peace

The majority of you, over 55%, say that you want Stephanie to rest in peace. The show already asked us to stretch credibility once when Taylor returned from the dead after appearing in an open casket! We saw Steph die on camera. Her soul has transitioned to another plane. She’d have no motivation to lie to everyone that we can think of and Brooke wouldn’t fake Steph’s death either.

Long Live Queen Stephanie on The Bold and the Beautiful

Fans have not only seen Taylor come back from the dead but also Macy (Bobbie Eakes), who supposedly perished when a tanker exploded. She died a few years later again — this time after a chandelier came crashing down on her.

But even now, there are some who suspect she’s still alive in a coma somewhere. Things come in threes, so it’s not surprising that around 23% of fans say you’re okay with Stephanie coming back to the land of the living.

Other-Worldly Advice

The good news is that the show can have Stephanie back without her being resurrected. Fans recall when she appeared as a ghostly voice and spoke to Brooke at her and Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) last wedding.

The show just needs a place to hang Steph’s portrait so characters can talk to the late matriarch whenever they’d like. The actress could bank a bunch of voiceovers and dole out advice to those she left behind. And 22% of fans say it’d be in character for the matriarch to try to control everyone’s life from the great beyond.
