The Y&R spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 16, 2022, brings relationship clarity, subterfuge, and heart to hearts among other things as Sally Spectra and Adam Newman figure out what’s between them.
Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) alerted Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to the fact that Adam (Mark Grossman) hired Sally (Courtney Hope) as COO without consulting him. Victor was none too pleased to find out his son left him out of the loop.
Both Victoria and Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) seemed pleased that Victor was shocked by Adam’s behavior. They cackled and planned for Ashland to take over Newman Media as soon as Adam slipped up. Of course, Ashland raised Victoria’s suspicions by saying he ruled what he owned with an iron fist. Vic reminded her husband that they run the company together. Oh dear…Ashland misspoke. Of course, they are equal. Victoria isn’t so sure, though. Ashland’s latest lies have her feeling worried.
Meanwhile, at Newman Media, Sally told Adam she doesn’t want to be his dirty little secret, and he agreed. He saw no reason they shouldn’t go public with their incendiary, earthquake, tsunami, wildfire-like relationship. After all, the aftershocks are sure to come soon. However, Victor had other thoughts. He charged right into Adam’s office and insulted Sally.
When Adam demanded Victor apologize, The Mustache declined. Adam started defending Sally, but she stopped him. Instead, Sally stood toe-to-toe with Victor and told him exactly who she is. She refused to apologize for what she did to Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King), and although he didn’t admit it, Victor was impressed. He agreed to let the dressmaker attempt to prove herself as COO.
Later, Victor spoke to Adam alone. He told his son that he’d found some things that didn’t add up regarding Ashland’s cancer treatments. Not surprisingly, Adam felt skeptical of his dad’s request to spy on Ashland. He wondered if it was yet another Victor Newman test. However, The Mustache let his son know that if he loved his family, Adam would do what he asked.
Because he felt left out, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) went to the Ranch to talk to his mom, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Nick expressed his worry about Adam and Victoria working together at Newman Locke. Nikki expressed her delight at soon calling Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) “Granny.” Of course, Nikki also revealed that she worried because the business took up so much of Victor’s energy.
Speaking of Victor, he showed up, and Nick tried to talk business, but Victor didn’t say much. He did let his son know that he had the whole thing with Adam and Victoria working together under control. Sure, Victor. Sure.
