Sam McMurray has been cast as Dwight, a new character who’ll connect with Kate Linder’s Esther Valentine. The actor, who’s had roles on primetime hits like Breaking Bad, Friends, The King of Queens, and The Sopranos, is also no stranger to daytime. McMurray previously appeared as Phil on Edge of Night and Wes on Ryan’s Hope. He’ll begin airing later this month.
The Young and the Restless History
Y&R made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in.
